Not in our world.
DCo have just made a short but significant move ‘up the road’ to take up residence in our new offices. It is a positive change, yet it of course still took the sharing of a vision to position this move to the staff.
There is something inspiring about seeing a team get behind a change. Allowing them to view, question and have input into the move achieved a real drive to make our new home the best space it could be to improve our systems and interactions.
A period of preparation converted an old building with a long history in the community into a new, brilliant, bright space to work and has provided us with rooms to meet, collaborate, separate and mingle. We have peace and noise, colour and shade, fun and formal spaces.
A straw poll of employees votes the staff room as the best space we have created. It is central to the way we achieve balance, handle the real stresses and challenges of the week, chew the fat, laugh, learn and spend time together.
Getting things from A to B is not without challenge.
There have been many journeys with little things, valuable things, heavy things, even things we’d almost forgotten about, but moving our people to the space they have helped to shape is the least stressful thing we have done.
DCo’s new home is Tower Hill, Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, SA61 1SR.
Do call in for a coffee if you are passing, we’d love to show you around.
