Coaching and Mentoring are often confused with each other but they are distinct skills that both provide significant business benefits.
Executive Coaching focuses on developing the skills of another person to achieve an improvement or an agreed standard within a defined time period. It has a clear focus on results and performance. It is an intensive way of developing your high potential employees or to facilitate a transition of role.
Mentoring is relationship, rather than task or skill focused, between two people with the intention of developing the lesser experienced person for both their current and future role. Competent mentors are one of the biggest assets for an organisation and that is why we work with you to develop your internal mentoring capability.
DCO provide organisations with coaching and mentoring programmes. We work with organisations to train teams of internal mentors whose role is to support and guide those with less experience within the business. We also provide executive coaching sessions on a one-to-one basis for focused performance development. These sessions are often supported by psychometric assessment and will develop an individual’s competence for their current or future role within the business.
