What Is An Assessment Centre?

A bespoke Assessment Centre is an excellent way to discover the suitability of a potential candidate and evaluate how an individual interacts with an organisation’s competencies. Not to be confused with Development Centres, Assessment and Development are two distinct events which use similar techniques and format, however, focusing on different goals and outcomes:

An Assessment Centre is focused on recruitment and designed for objective talent selection.

A Development Centre is used for professional talent development and is designed to enhance transparency.

Why Use an Assessment Centre?

Objective methods of selection are used at Assessment Centre Events. According to the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), approximately a third of organisations now use Centres as part of their recruitment process.

We provide Assessment Centre Events that are tailored  to your organisation and are reflective of the competencies that you want to highlight. This means that our Assessment Centre Events are bespoke.

Our bespoke Assessment Centres are generally one day in duration and follow a sifting process undertaken by online testing and first round interviews. The Centre will contain at least four different exercises designed by us to test each candidate’s suitability for your role.

We will design exercises which suitably challenge candidates and test their performance against prior-arranged competencies. Dco make every effort in the design of your events to develop exercises which are tailored to your organisation.

Rigorous planning and administration define each Assessment Centre process; it is a this pressured format that we pride ourselves on making seamless.

We welcome the involvement of internal staff in the observation process and have a track record of training teams of internal observers to undertake this role successfully.
